Are you looking for the next cool spot to take photos? Over the years, I’ve photographed many people in beautiful places. Here are some of my favorite photoshoot spots from Galveston to Houston to Austin, Texas!
Hershey Beach – Hershey Beach Dr Galveston, TX 77554
This location is nestled in the quiet West End beaches. It’s perfect for solo sessions, family sessions, or lover sessions. Galveston beaches can get quite crowded, so it’s important to find one that’s a little more hidden!
Railroad tracks – 51st St Galveston, TX 77551
These railroad tracks and abandoned buses offer the full package when it comes to beautifully haunting places. Whether you’re looking for trouble or a dreamy crop field backdrop, you’ll find it on 51st street!
Sugar Bean Coffee and Cream – 11 Evia Main Unit 101 Galveston, TX 77554
Sugar Bean is my favorite location to shoot in Galveston! Its small-town aesthetic works for any session. You can enjoy your cup of coffee and take a walk around in nature, finding the perfect setting for your next picture.
Houston Arboretum & Nature Center – 4501 Woodway Dr Houston, TX 77007
This park is a nature-lovers dream. It’s the prettiest during sunset hours, where the light peaks so softly through the trees.
The Menil Collection – 1533 Sul Ross St Houston, TX 77006
The Menil Collection is great for winter sessions. As you can see, its red foliage pairs perfectly with the season!
Flamingo Automotive – 3512 Guadalupe St Austin, TX 78705
This famous auto-shop is a hidden gem in Austin. At night, the neon sign lights illuminate your subject with purpose. The owner is very nice, too!
McKinney Falls State Park – 5808 McKinney Falls Pkwy Austin, TX 78744
If you’re looking for a park with a little bit of everything, this is it! McKinney Falls State Park has trees, trails, and brick walls — anything and everything you could need in a portrait session.
Moontower Saloon – 10212 Manchaca Rd Austin, TX 78748
Moontower Saloon was one of those accidental finds. I was arriving to see a live band during a girl’s night and noticed they had an abandoned truck and bus in the field next to the venue. The next morning, I scouted out the location further and smiled, knowing exactly where I was going to have my next shoot!
Zilker Metropolitan Park – 2100 Barton Springs Rd Austin, TX 78704
Saving the best for last — Zilker Park is the best location for a picnic session. Grab a blanket, some fruit, a camera, and start snapping photos!
